Since 1987, we've held out our hand to help prepare a new generation of leaders... |

How You Can Give to the TMSF/911 Response
In the aftermath of the World Trade Center and Pentagon tragedies, the staff of the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund, Inc. joined the nation in shock and grief. We continue to extend our thoughts and prayers to the thousands of people affected by the attack on our nation and on the American people. We also join the nation in remembering the brave fire fighters, police and emergency rescue personnel who gave their lives in order to help others to safety.
However, TMSF wanted to do more to help those affected by the tragedy.
As we pondered as to what we could do to help, we realized that the answer was clear: Continue our 14-year commitment to providing educational opportunities that prepare a new generation of leaders for our nation.
Therefore,
we have established the Thurgood Marshall/911 Response Scholarships. This
special fund will be dedicated to providing scholarships and programmatic
support to the children of those who were affected by the World Trade Center
and Pentagon tragedies. Specifically, this fund will provide educational assistance
to college-age children of displaced employees of the World Trade Center and
Pentagon. We recognize that a number of employees lost jobs and sources of
livelihood due to the tragedies.
Those applying for the Thurgood Marshall//911 Response Scholarships must meet the eligibility requirements for Thurgood Marshall Scholarships and must attend one of the eight Thurgood Marshall member colleges or universities in the New York or greater Washington, D.C. areas. (See below for a listing of the colleges and universities).
As we look to our nation's leaders during this critical and historic time, we are all reminded of just how important it is for our nation to continue building strong leaders. TMSF is proud of its role in helping to prepare a new generation of leaders for more than 14 years.
We hope you will join us in preparing new leaders for our nation, while helping those who were impacted by our nation's most horrific tragedy.
You can make a contribution to the new Thurgood Marshall/911 Response Scholarships by sending your tax-deductible donation to the Thurgood Marshall/911 Response Scholarships online or by sending your contribution to the:
